10 arrested in Yaoundé for banditry

A gang made of 10 suspected bandits has been arrested in Yaoundé, Center Region of Cameroon.



The arrest was during a raid carried out on October 24, 2022, by the Service in charge of Criminal Investigation and the Control of Organized Banditry of the First Gendarmerie Region.


The individuals were apprehended in possession of dangerous objects such as; Bladed weapons, large quantities of cocaine, cannabis and other psychotropic drugs. A good number of phones was equally seized from them.


“It should be noted that the arrested include four ex-convicts. According to witness statements from the locals, these alleged drug dealers were a cause of insecurity in this area,” disclosed the National Gendarmerie.


They went ahead to urge the population to collaborate with the forces of law and order by dialing 113 in case of any suspicious behaviors in their surroundings.
