11 suspected drug traffickers arrested in Yaoundé



The first Gendarmerie Region has nabbed 11 suspected drug traffickers in some neighborhoods in Yaounde of the Centre Region.

They were arrested on July 12 and 13, 2022.

The mass arrest was made following raids conducted in the Elig Edzoa and Ngousso neighborhoods at about 10:30 pm.



According to the National Gendarmerie , the gang consists of “two alleged major drug dealers(aged 30 and 31 respectively) and 9 drug users.

About “03 kilograms of Cannabis, 200 grams of cocaine, razor blades and a knife” they continued, “were seized in the process”


Among the 11 persons arrested were three ex-convicts and a woman.

The eleven arrested are currently undergoing interrogations, while investigations are ongoing in the same unit.
