16 gold bars have reportedly been seized from a traveler on his way to Dubai.
The consignment was seized on Saturday April 23, 2022.
The bars of gold were seized by the elements of the tourists brigade of the international Airport of Douala.
According to reports, the traveler looked suspicious from his appearance and had no authorization document which is illegal according to Mvondo Elanga, head of custom enforcement unit.
He said
” It is an illegal act! You cannot travel with gold without documents, you have to get the authorization of exportation and when you get them, you have to make declarations.
However, investingations will be carried out to ascertain whether the metal is actually gold, before necessary measures can be taken.
