2020 BAC/Probatoire Session: Teachers in Moungo Division demand payment of marking dues

Tensions are rising between teachers and the educational authorities in the Moungo Division over the non-payment of marking incentives after wrapping up with the exercise over a month ago.

This is becoming a recurrent situation in most regions in Cameroon and this case is not an isolated one.

Teachers in the Moungo have cried foul and insist that their payments being made within the shortest possible delay.

“Can you imagine that the BAC and Probatoire results have been out ever since but yet our money hasn’t been paid us?” one of the teachers quizzed.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that marking incentives have been paid in other divisions of the Littoral region but for the Mungo division. The teachers expressed their dissapointment and further revealed that this is not the first time they are witnessing this issue

“I usually ask myself why the educational authorities in our Dvision despise us so much…,” another teacher laments. ” Must we always wait for a year before receiving what is rightfully ours whereas our fellow colleagues in other divisions receive theirs immediately after marking? This is so unfair! We, the teachers of the Mungo division call on the powers-that-be to endeavour to pay us regularly and on time so that it will enable us kickstart the academic year with pride and fulfilment come October 5 2020.’

At press time, the divisional delegate of the Mungo was yet to make a comment on these declarations.
