22-year-old housekeeper kills matron in Garoua, with objective to claim her property

A 22-year-old man, housekeeper to a mother of two has been arrested for killing his matron in Garoua, North Region of Cameroon.

The accused by the name Dairou Mamat pleaded guilty to killing his 49-year-old matron with the intention to acquire her property.

According to the security officials, the corpse of the deceased was found in an advanced state of decomposition in her room.

” We discovered the body of a 49-year-old woman in a stage of decomposition in her room. She was living with her two children and the errand boy, who disappeared after the act.” indicated Judith Doura, a police commissioner.

Meanwhile, the security officials used the opportunity to urge the population to remain vigilant and denounce all suspected persons in their environs.

“My message to the population is for them to be vigilant, suspect any dangerous person living within us. More importantly, the population should always be ready to denounce any suspected act,” said a police officer by the name Abdou Younoussa.

Investigations however led to the arrest of the accused after which he was taken to the Garoua Regional Police for further investigations.
