40-Year-Old Macron Pledges To Work With Biya, 85, To Tackle Anglophone Crisis, Boko Haram

French President, Emmanuel Macron has announced his readiness to back his Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya with any initiative aimed at resolving the Anglophone crisis.

“My greatest wish is that, urgent steps should be taken to address the worsening crisis which is a major preoccupation to France and other friendly countries to Cameroon…” Macron said in a statement.

Emmanuel Macron added that only political solutions can resolve the anglophone crisis adding the the accompanying measures should be immediate.

In Macron’s congratulatory message sent to Cameroon’s President elect, Paul Biya, he reiterates France’s commitment to assist Cameroon, Niger, Chad, Benin to crush Boko Haram.

“We will also accompany social and economic drives in the affected localities…,” said Macron in his letter.

Emmanuel Macron also pledged to reinforce bilateral and longstanding ties with Cameroon.

President Biya took to twitter and facebook to post the message from Macron.
Many social media users have however been quick to question the authenticity of the document, saying that the signature does not match with those on other documents.

Many have questioned France’s genuine concern and readiness to resolve the anglophone crisis, given that she has never opted for the topic to be discussed at the UN security council.
