42-year-old woman molested for attempting to disrupt ex’s wedding

By Amina Hilda

Relatives of Audrey N, a former accountant in Europe who is now based in Douala, lynched and molested his 42-year-old ex-wife Diane Marceline, after she attempted to disrupt his wedding in Douala on Saturday.

Marceline caused a stir at the wedding ceremony at Makepe neighborhood in Douala on Saturday evening during a decisive cake-cutting moment.

She reportedly stormed the ceremony to demand her half of a piece of land she jointly acquired with her former husband.

But the move backfired against her. Relatives of her ex-husband who were at the wedding descended on her and left her injured.

Reports say she sustained injuries and was hospitalized at a local hospital in Douala.

According to the state-owned newspaper, Cameroon Tribune, Marceline batched into the wedding demanding from Audrey documents of a piece of land they had bought when they were still together.

The couple has been divorced now for five years. Cameroon Tribune reported that the divorce became inevitable after Audrey discovered Marceline was cheating on him.

They got married in 2006 and after obtaining the required papers, the accountant brought his wife to Europe two years later.

A few years later, the woman suggested to her husband to return to Cameroon and control their business investments.

Audrey considered the proposal and returned to Cameroon.

But after a while, he began receiving reports that his wife was constantly unavailable at home, alongside rumours that she was dating another man.

Audrey then decided to embark on a surprise trip to Europe where he reportedly caught his wife red-handed with another man.

He also found out that one of his wife’s suitors had been living in his matrimonial home in his absence.

Audrey immediately separated from his wife and in 2018, the couple got divorced.
