Some inhabitants of Douala today turned down requests to take vaccines against cholera arguing that the government was using a trick to vaccinate people against COVID-19. The ongoing vaccination by medical personnel is set to end on March 30th.


Some Bamenda city dwellers whose houses were demolished due to the expansion of roads say they need to be compensated by the City Council. Several businesses and other private structures have been destroyed for roads to be expanded, a project financed by the Cameroon government in collaboration with the World Bank.

The North West region of Cameroon has recorded close to 40 deaths in the month of March as a result of COVID-19. Governor, Adoph Lele L’Afrique while distributing facemasks said the figure indicates that COVID-19 preventive measures should be taken more seriously to reduce the number of infected persons and deaths.


Medics who treat mouth and ear infections in Cameroon are meeting in Douala to sharpen their skills and sensitise the population on how to avoid such infections and how to seek treatment when infected.

The Minister of Secondary Education, Pauline Nalova Lyonga has ordered for the readmission of the 14 students who were dismissed from GBHS Kribi for sexual misconduct. The Minister insists that moral values should rather be taught intensively in public institutions to curb such practices.


The International Happiness Report has ranked Cameroon as the 5th Happiest country in Africa. Many Cameroonians have however, been ridiculing the ranking, citing the numerous political challenges the country is facing. The happiest African state on the Chart is Mauritius.

Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions are expected to be heading back to Cameroon from Cape Verde after losing their AFCON qualification match 3-1 to Cape Verde. They are to resume training tomorrow ahead of their match against Rwanda next Tuesday.



Two persons have been killed in a stampede following the AFCON qualification game between Comoros and Togo. They died as fans rushed into the stadium in joy after Comoros qualified for the competition for their first time ever.
