Cameroonian customs authorities have laid hands on a large consignment of fake Covid-19 Tests kits that were being smuggled into the country via the Douala International Airport.
The seizure was made at a time when the Cameroonian Government has received and is deploying more than 300,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines.
The fake Covid-19 Tests kits were seized from a Cameroonian returning from Europe. Upon interrogation on the package, reports say he said it contained of drugs approved Health Ministry, but however was not able to provide valide documents.
The seized package has been stored in a safe where contraband goods are kept, awaiting imminent destruction.
