“A real dialogue is inevitable” – Archbishop Samuel Kleda

The Archbishop of the Metropolitan Diocese of Douala says continuous killings in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon means the 2019 national dialogue has failed.

Bishop Samuel Kleda has thus called for a need for a real dialogue to be organized to address core issues still fanning violence in the North West and South West regions.

In a special mass organized Friday, October 30, 2020, at Saint Peter and Paul’s Cathedral in Douala, Catholic Christians condemned the government’s laxity to solve a problem that has rendered the lives of many miserable.

To hundreds of members of the platform Stand Up for Cameroon Movement that jointly organized the mass, the government of Cameroon has all it takes to solve the Anglophone but unfortunately lacks the goodwill to stop the war.

Members of Stand Up for Cameroon at the Cameroon People’s Party (CPP) paid homage to kids killed in Kumba in the South West Region and Ngarbuh in the North West.

Earlier in a press conference in Douala, Edith Kah Walla condemned the use of violence in the process of demanding the amelioration of living conditions. The politician and civil society activist stated that most of the killings, since the start of the Anglophone crisis, involves Anglophones killing themselves.
Stand Up for Cameroon points accusing fingers at the government of Cameroon for failing to adequately address key issues to solve the problem.

The movement has always stood for a peaceful political transition in Cameroon to ensure better governance.
