Accused of sponsoring terrorism, Ayah Ayah Abine questioned for hours at Judicial Police

After about four hours of interrogation at the Judicial Police in Yaounde, son of former Cameroonian Supreme Court Chief Judge, Ayah Paul Abine, Ayah Ayah Abine has been asked to return home.

In a post on his Facebook page, Ayah Ayah Abine who is President of the Ayah Foundation, a humanitarian group that has been assisting internally and externally displaced victims of the raging war in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions said today’s interrogation switched from buying of arms for Southern Cameroon’s separatist fighters to suspicion of sponsoring of terrorism and money laundering, something he describes as incredible.

This is not the first time the humanitarian has been questioned by the government. Three months back he was summoned at the National Gendarmerie headquarters, SED in Yaounde after being accused of providing arms for separatist fighters in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions.
