AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Media Accreditation Process Now Open

The application window for media accreditation for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 is now open.

The deadline for the AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Media accreditation will be on November 24, 2023.

The 34th edition of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON is scheduled to take place from 13th January to 11th February 2024. The tournament will be held in multiple cities including Abidjan, Korhogo, Bouake, Yamoussokro, and San Pedro.

Media outlets interested in covering the tournament are encouraged to apply for the AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Media accreditation through the CAF Media Channel.

Having approval to access the CAF Media Channel does not imply that you have been accredited. Confirmation is required for all applications.

Confirmation will not be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants who are successful will be notified and given additional information at the appropriate time.

In order to accommodate the high demand from media outlets worldwide, CAF has decided to implement ‘quotas’ for each nation participating in the Cote d’Ivoire event.

All applicants will receive feedback by 08 December 2023 at the latest.

The 2023 Edition of the AFCON

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, also referred to as the 2023 AFCON or CAN 2023, and sponsored by TotalEnergies, is the 34th edition of the biennial African association football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Cote d’Ivoire will be hosting the event for the second time, after previously hosting it in 1984.

The upcoming tournament was planned to be the third edition held during the Northern Hemisphere summer since the 2019 tournament. This change was made to minimise scheduling conflicts with European club teams and competitions.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations was postponed by CAF on July 3, 2022.

This decision was made due to concerns about the adverse summer weather in Ivory Coast. However, despite the change in dates, the tournament will still be referred to as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons. For the first time in AFCON history, the tournament had to be moved twice due to unforeseen circumstances. This also happened in the previous edition.
