The Minister of Communication René Emmanuel Sadi has urged Cameroonians to start turning out massively for games at the ongoing AFCON.
Minister Emmanuel Sadi has referenced the exciting turnout during the opening ceremony at the Olembé Football Stadium, saying it showed Cameroon’s enthusiasm and organizational competence to the world.
However, a low turnout in other group games across other host cities has prompted the Yaoundé authorities to urge citizens to show up at stadiums for games.
To him, it will only be with such massive participation from the population that the competition will be considered successful.
It should be known that this year’s AFCON is currently being held amidst the ongoing outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With this in mind, all sports lovers attending games will have to go through certain protocols like getting vaccinated and showing proof of negative Covid-19 tests to be granted access to the stadium.
