The lifeless body of a man was found today at Nanga Junction in Bamenda, capital of Cameroon’s North West Region.
Locals say the body was found next to a motorbike with bullet wounds to its back.
The discovery comes after what was a chaotic weekend in the town.
On Friday, a police officer gunned down a little girl as she returned from school.
Security forces later killed two and injured others, after they opened fire on civilians protesting the killing of the little girl.
On Saturday, separatist fighters struck in Matazem, on the outskirts of the town, killing at least five security officers and one civilian.
Reports say the faction led by a self-styled ‘General’ Okoro ambushed the security officers after setting off an explosive.
On Sunday morning, the chaos in the North West region only worsened. Separatist fighters stormed a market in Baligham, setting shops on fire.
Authorities are yet to react to the Saturday and Sunday attacks.
