After Attack on Sasse College : Boarding Schools Begin Sending Home Students

As tension mounts in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon ahead of the October 7th presidential election, officials of two boarding colleges in Fako have told parents and guardians to take their kids home starting Tuesday September 18.

A note from the principal of PGSS Limbe read:

“PGSS LIMBE

Dear parents/GuardiansWe appreciate the sense of confidence you have for us. We think it is our responsibility to take decisions to protect the students. That is why we are calling on you to pick up the children on Wednesday 19/09/2018 at 7:00am and to bring them back on Friday 12/10/2018.

Thanks for understanding

Principal PGSS Limbe”.

A similar message came from the Saker Baptist college which read:

“Dear parents. Due to persistent calls and pressure by parents, and in agreement with the PTA EXCO, Saker Baptist College is going on a short break as from tomorrow, 18/09/18. Therefore, parents should come pick up their children between 8am and 2pm.

Thanks for understanding. (Principal)”

This is happening in the wake of persistent calls from Anglophone activists for the population to boycott the presidential election.
