After months of rumour of his resignation, ENEO boss finally steps down

The Chief Executive Officer of ENEO Cameroon, Joel Nana Kontchou has resigned from his position.

In a public message, he said “the Board of Directors has designated Mr. Eric MANSUY as Eneo new CEO with immediate effect. I wish him best of success in his new duties”.

After more than five years with Eneo, Nana said he is set to follow other interests, noting that “today, the foundations of Eneo are stronger”.

Analysing his time spent with the company, he said he and his team were able to carry out a series of changes:

Transferred 5% shares of the company to employees;

Obtained a 10-year extension on the concession. Acknowledgements go to the Minister of Water Resources and Energy, and the government at large, for actively contributing to make this possible;

Connected more than 450,000 new customers, with around 65% access to electricity, from 56% in 2014;

Rejuvenated our workforce, empowered women and improved service quality;
Reinforce safety and governance of the Company;

Provided continuity of service in North-West and South-West Regions during difficult times. “In the next few years, I will dedicate my time to knowledge sharing and social impact investment” he said, urging workers not to relent their efforts. “I urge you to continue to work hard, step by step, to further transform Cameroon’s electricity service” said he.

Meanwhile, energy supply is still limited in Cameroon with majority of areas without access to electricity.
