Ailing Amity Bank founder calls on Biya to render justice, enforce court decision returning his lands

The Founder of Amity Bank and Founding President of Kumbo Strikers Football Club, Shey Tasha Lawrence Loweh, is seeking aid from President Paul Biya after a series of tragedies that have seen him reduce to almost a shadow of his former self.

In his letter to President Paul Biya, the notable of the Nso Fondom and former Bui I CPDM section president calls on the Head of State to enforce a court decision meant to see him reclaim his lands.

Despite winning all his legal battles relating to the Amity Bank and his lands that were seized in Yaounde, the court decision has not been respected, leaving the 73-year-old said to be ailing, in poorer shape and frustrated.

An intellectual in his time, Shey Tasha returned home in the 90s to establish the Amity Bank after serving abroad in the famous Charse Manhattan Bank.

To date, he is credited for the bank’s rapid growth and expansion as well as its much-trumpeted success. The notable’s story at the helm of the institution however did not have a happy ending.

Heavy legal battles shortly after the sum of 75 Billion was reportedly pumped into the institution in the early 2000s by the Americans, saw the once heralded and cherished intellectual kicked out of the institution, losing his lands in the process.

Despite emerging victorious in all his legal fights, the decisions would not be respected, leaving Tasha where he is today.

The former billionaire wrote his appeal to the president from Douala in the Littoral region where he is now living as an Internally Displaced Person (IDP), due to the war in the country’s North West and South West regions.
