Akere Muna dedicates prestigious Pan-African Honour Roll Award to Cameroonians

Barrister Akere Muna has dedicated his prestigious Pan-African Honour Roll Award to the people of Cameroon.

Muna, a distinguished Cameroonian lawyer, politician, and anti-corruption activist, received the accolade during the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of the African Union (ECOSOCC) held in Accra, Ghana.

The anti-corruption crusader took to his social media platforms to express gratitude for the honor.

“Grateful to be recognized with the Pan African Roll of Honor during the Twentieth Anniversary celebration of the Economic Social & Cultural Council of the African Union in Accra, Ghana,” he wrote.

“I dedicate this award to the resilient people of Cameroon as they navigate a crucial chapter in their history. Together, we will overcome any challenges that come our way.”

The award ceremony, held on July 17, 2024, was part of a five-day event celebrating ECOSOCC’s two decades of impactful work.

The event, which ran from July 16 to 20, 2024, in Accra, gathered prominent civil society activists and leaders from across the globe, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in driving socio-economic and cultural development in Africa.

Barrister Akere Muna’s recognition testifies to his extensive work in advocating for good governance, transparency, and human rights.

With a rich background in international law, Muna has been a steadfast voice against corruption and for democratic reforms in Cameroon.

His political journey includes serving as a presidential candidate in the 2018 elections.

This award is one of many international recognitions Muna has received for his contributions to the African continent.
