The flagbearer of the Social Democratic Front party has said Amba boys set Fru Ndi’s Baba II residence on fire because, the SDF Chair braved the odds to take part in the voting process on October 7th 2018.
Hon. Joshua Osih also declared that, the Sister of Ni John Fru Ndi was abducted for a similar reason.
He was speaking at the Constitutional Council while defending the SDF petition which called for the total annulment of the October 7th presidential election in Cameroon.
One of the houses of the Chairman of Cameroon’s main opposition party, Ni John Fru Ndi which was burnt down Wednesday, is situated in Ni John Fru Ndi’s native village of Baba II in Mezam Division of the conflict hit North West Region of Cameroon.
The Younger sister of the Chairman, Christy Akum was kidnapped same day, Wednesday October 17, 2018.
Reports say pro independence fighters have denied responsibility for both incidents, but Honorable Joshua Osih said the party’s head was targeted due to his participation in the Sunday election.
“That is to tell you how unsecured the Anglophone Regions are…on Saturday, the Chairman’s driver was shot by the army at the Food Market in Bamenda..because he was outside rushing home, five minutes after curfew time…” Joshua Osih said.
The party is yet to make an official statement on the burning and kidnapping.
