Ambazonia General Threatens Bamukumbit Villagers with Kidnapping

A self-proclaimed Ambazonia separatist ‘general’, known as ‘The Only Bro’, has issued a stern ultimatum to the villagers of Bamukumbit. The ambazonia ‘general’, who claims authority over the Ngoketunja administrative unit in the troubled North West region, is demanding 12 million FCFA for the purchase of weapons.

In a recent threat, The Only Bro declared that he would resort to kidnapping villagers for ransom if the required funds are not provided. He accused the Bamukumbit residents of working in league with government forces against separatists.

“Bamukumbit people have all turned into blacklegs—killing fighters and driving others and their families away,” he said in a widely circulated audio recording obtained by MMI.

The separatist leader also criticized the villagers for allegedly donating money to support military efforts, questioning whether similar financial support has ever been extended to separatist fighters.

“You people have contributed money to support the military. We have taken note and will come after all of you,” he warned. “All occasions and celebrations in Bamukumbit now have plainclothes military men on guard.”

The Only Bro expressed frustration, despite his claims of seeking a peaceful collaboration with the local population. He demanded that the community provide 12 million FCFA to purchase two guns, threatening severe consequences if the demand is unmet.

“You people will contribute and buy two guns for us. These two guns cost 12 million. If these guns or the money is not provided, I will kidnap all of you, and each person will pay 5 million in ransom,” he threatened.

Further, he vowed retribution, stating, “I installed General A4 in Bamukumbit, and you chased him away to work with the military.”

Known for a history of violence, including kidnapping for ransom, torture, extortion, and obstructing the Ndop-Bamenda road, ‘General’ The Only Bro operates from a base in Bamessing.
