Andre Onana keeps first clean sheet to give United 1-0 victory over Wolves

Cameroonian International, Andre Onana, showcased his exceptional goalkeeping skills as he successfully kept a clean sheet, leading the Red Devils to their first victory of the season.

Manchester United was resilient as they clung on to secure a hard-fought victory. Varane’s decisive goal proved to be the game-changer, as the defender expertly nodded the ball into the net from a short distance. This remarkable play was set up by the impressive teamwork of Fernandes and Wan-Bissaka.

Wolves demonstrated unwavering determination, leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of an equaliser.

Despite their valiant efforts, luck seemed to elude them as they were denied a well-deserved goal. The game was filled with heart-stopping moments, none more so than when Cunha’s thunderous strike ricocheted off the post, leaving the opposition breathless.

Neto and Silva also had golden opportunities to put their team ahead, but their finishing touch deserted them at crucial moments.

Adding to the drama, a VAR review in the dying minutes of the game left Wolves fans on the edge of their seats. Hope surged through their veins as they anticipated a penalty decision in their favour, only to be left disappointed as the ruling went against them.

Despite the bitter taste of an unrewarded performance, Wolves can hold their heads high, knowing they left no stone unturned in their pursuit of victory.

O’Neil finds encouragement in Wolves’ display, despite the game’s final result.

André Onana joined the ranks of goalkeepers who kept a clean sheet on their Premier League debut for Manchester United, becoming the 11th player to achieve this feat. He is the first goalkeeper to do so since Joel Pereira against Crystal Palace in May 2017.

Wolves directed six shots on target in the game, surpassing the record set by Chelsea in August 2019 (7 shots on target, 0 goals), as the visiting side at Old Trafford in the Premier League without scoring.
