Gun men Suspected to be Separatist Fighters have killed a driver plying the Bamenda-Bali road, MMI has gathered.
The remains of the driver whose only names we got as Lang were found Tuesday March 14, 2023 in the early hours of the morning, few meters away from Ntanfoang, Bali Nyonga, an administrative unit in Mezam division of the restive North West Region.
His body was riddled with bullets, suggesting that he was shot several times.
The incident came weeks after an audio message purportedly from separatist fighters operating in Bali warning those they describe as black legs to leave the village.
The speaker indicated in the audio that they were aware of what some drivers plying the Bamenda-Bali road have been doing that has led to the death of many especially those suspected to be relatives of separatist fighters.
“Many have been paid to point out relatives of separatist fighters to soldiers. This has let to the forceful disappearance of many with many deads recorded,” said a source in Bali.
Civilians continue to pay with their lives in the more than five years armed conflict in Anglophone Cameroon.Soldiers and armed fighters have repeatedly been accused of targeting armless civilians in the bloody war.
