At least four civilians have been killed in Mbei Village, Santa, Mezam division of the restive North West region of Cameroon.

They were killed Saturday night April 22, 2023.

The persons killed have been identified simply as Achiri, Ngu, Terrence, and Sylvanus and were shot in a drinking spot in Mbei market.

Those killed according to information gathered by MMI, are the bar owner, a prince of Mbei with two other princes including a quarter head

Eyewitnesses confirm that the macabre act was committed by Ambazonia separatist fighters.

“Black Saturday in Mbei. Four people were murdered in cold blood yesterday night” a source told MMI adding that “……… they were killed by Separatists. As of now, we do not know why they were killed.”

Narrating the incident, another source said, “We heard gunshots and after the gunshots, a friend called and informed me that four persons have been shot dead at a store around the Mbei village market going towards the Mbei Palace. When we rushed there, we found the dead bodies inside the bar”

“The bar owner was killed with money in his hands.,” the source added.

Inconsolable villagers gathered at the scene wailing as the victims could be seen lying in their own pools of blood.
