A detainee arrested in connection with the ongoing armed conflict in the Anglophone regions, Ndasi Alfred is reportedly receiving medical attention after being tortured, sources in the facility say.

Ndasi who is being detained at the Kondengui Central prison in Yaounde, source says, had just returned from the health unit, when guards stormed his room and initiated a search.

He was said to have been “manhandled” in the course of the search by the guards who did not disclose the reason for their actions.

The sick detainee was rushed back to the health facility by fellow inmates following the incident, and is said to be receiving drips as his situation is being monitored.
