The Divisional Officer in charge of the Kouoptamo Subdivision, Adrien Ehode, has ordered all farms to be cleared down to a maximum height of 1 meter within his locality, in the Noun Division, West Region.
The information was contained in a release signed June 27, 2022 by the Kouoptamo Divisional Officer.
Ehode in the release gave the population a period of 10 days to clear off their farms which according to him could serve as possible hideouts for the separatist fighters.
“The Commune of Kouoptamo and its surroundings, must within 10 days from the date of signature of this press release, be cleaned and pruned of their leaves up to (01) meter in height,” he instructed.
He concluded by reiterating that failure to implement the instruction will unfailingly result in the” total destruction of non-compliant farms.”
It should be recalled that a recent attack was carried out in this locality, precisely in Njitapon, where 5 military officials were killed by separatist fighters.
