This afternoon’s match between Arsenal and Liverpool was fantastic. It is most likely the game that will determine the outcome of the title contest.
Liverpool came back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Arsenal at Anfield. Mikel Arteta’s team loses ground in the title race, but their lead over Manchester City grows to six points for the time being.
Arsenal dominated the first half, taking a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.
Mohamed Salah pulled one back for Liverpool before halftime, but the Egyptian missed a penalty early in the second half that would have leveled the score.
The visitors held on until Roberto Firmino’s header in the 87th minute tied the game.
In the end, the teams split the spoils, though both will be disappointed not to have earned all three points.
Arsenal appeared to be cruising after goals from Martinelli and Jesus, but Salah scored just before halftime to set up an exciting second half.
Salah missed from the spot after Holding brought down Jota, but Firmino nodded home Alexander-cross Arnold’s to give Liverpool a point. Klopp’s side could have won it in extra time, but Ramsdale saved the day for the Gunners with two brilliant saves from Salah and Konate.
