At Least 12 Persons Killed In Boko Haram Attack In Mozogo, Far North Cameroon

The security personnel in the Far North Region might have been trimmed down but the Boko Haram terrorists have not backed down on their attacks on the population of the region.

In their most recent attack, the Jihadists killed not less than 12 innocent civilians today in the Dak neighborhood in Mozogo, Mayo-Tsanaga Divison.

The inhabitants of this area were rattled by heavy gunshots, and just as they sought an escape route, they were met face to face with these Boko Haram terrorists who opened fire, killing not less than 12 of them on the spot.

Having gone through the extremely tough year 2020, the people of Mozogo in the Far North Region may likely encounter an even tougher one this 2021.

This is due to the fact that the area has already witnessed three separate attacks from the Boko Haram terrorists between January 1-8 2021, losing more than 15 persons in these attacks.

Today’s attack has prompted a massive movement of individuals towards Mokolo where they plan to converge themselves for safety.

Several schools in the region have equally shut down completely for security purposes and teachers have absconded their duty posts too.

The people of Mozogo are in pain and have decried the notable absence of Defense and Security forces from the area.
This absence according to them has been a major reason for frequent attacks on them by the Boko Haram terrorists.
