Autopsy report reveals Martinez Zogo was electrocuted, leg broken, fingers missing

A preliminary autopsy report has revealed that journalist Martinez Zogo was tortured before being killed by electrocution, Paul Daizy Bia, a Yaounde-based journalist, has said.

The autopsy was conducted at the Yaounde General Hospital on Sunday after Zogo’s body was discovered that morning in a state of decomposition.

Quoting Zogo’s family members, Paul Bia further revealed that one of the late radio host’s legs was broken and some of his fingers missing, and his tongue twisted out of its normal position.

“We stayed posted for hours to hear from a family member that: Martinez Zogo has a broken foot, bruised fingers, he received electrical discharges, they made him eat his excrements, the tongue was not in it’s normal position…,” Paul Bia said in a Facebook post.

The killing of Martinez Zogo has been widely condemned. His body was discovered around Soa neighbourhood in Yaounde on Sunday, January 22, five days after he was abducted.
