A 53-year-old man, Fanso Yaya Mbuhyeh will next week, clock 8 months in captivity.
He was picked up on October 28, 2021 in Ngomham – Last Pool, Bamenda, by suspected gunmen who then asked for a ransom.
“… His wife made all efforts to send what she could but he has never been released,” and source familiar with the story told Mimi Mefo Info.
He adds that the family is unsure whether Yaya was taken by separatist fighters or the military.
Yaya is one of many others abducted within the course of the armed conflict in the North West and South West region.
The lucky have been returned after payment of ransom. Others however, have gone missing and some killed by their abductors.
