Bamenda: Four persons arrested by soldiers remain unaccounted a week later

Residents of Chomba, in Bamenda II Subdivision, Mezam Division of the North West Region are demanding the whereabouts of four persons arrested on December 10, 2021, by the military during a routine raid.

One of them called Mr. Apollo was taken alongside his wife according to testimonies, to an undisclosed location.

The soldiers are believed to have invaded Chomba in search of Ambazonian fighters, and Mr. Apollo in his capacity as Quarter Head was taken by the soldiers who claimed he knew where the separatists are hiding.

The four individuals: Chi Apollo, Tiku Solange, Swirri Franka, and Nswaka Bright were searched for by the population from army camp in Chomba, but could not be found there.

There is fear among the relatives of the arrested persons that they may be under inhumane conditions wherever they are being held.

For now, relative calm seems to have returned to Chomba, but the residents remain worried and uncertain.
