Bamenda III Council fortifies water purification plant ahead of dry season

The Bamenda water purification plant that supplies portable water to some forty thousand households in the town can now produce way above former capacity.

This is thanks to recent works at the water plant that saw the installation of a control panel and a solar panel system at the plant by German technicians.

The water plant costing over one billion francs is the council initiative realised thanks to the fruitful partnership between that Bamenda III council and her German none governmental association partner.

According to the mayor of Bamenda III council, Fonguh Cletus Tanui, the council is concerned about the acute water shortage in the city and shall redouble her efforts to curb the situation.

“We are going to to construct bigger storage facilities at the base here and elsewhere In the city especially in place of high altitude because the only challenge we may face is the problem of storage,” he explained.

Launched in 2016 the one billion FCFA water purification plant has been providing water to some three thousand homes in the town of Bamenda which is still plagued by acute shortage especially in the dry Season.
