Bamenda: Man chops nephew’s fingers for stealing FCFA250, 000

A man in Bamenda has chopped the fingers of his nephew whom he claimed stole FCFA 250,000.

The barbaric act committed by Mr. Azong Bernard, a worker with CamCCUL in Bamenda, happened on April 7, 2021, at the Mile 5 neighborhood in Nkwen, Bamenda, Northwest Region.

Mr. Azong claimed his nephew, 16-year-old Funwie Brandon, had stolen his money worth 250,000frs. As punishment, he seized the boy and cut his nine fingers.

Neighbors and friends close to the victim have expressed utter shock and disgust for the inhumane and barbaric actions of Mr. Azong Bernard.

The 16-year-old victim is currently receiving intense medical attention at a local hospital. However, his uncle, the perpetrator of the bestial act, still walks around free as nothing concrete has been done to punish him for his evil action.

The management of CamCCUL Bamenda has equally not given an official statement on the actions of one of its workers.
