Bamenda: Military Summarily Execute A Man In Public

On a day that turned out to be one of the darkest in the North West Region, still yesterday December 08, 2021, there are revelations that the military had executed a man in Ntarinkon, Bamenda around 6:50 pm.

A witness told Mimi Mefo Info that the victim was pulled out of the armored car which was also stuck in traffic amongst other cars, and summarily executed in public.

“I don’t know who the man was or what crime he had committed,” a witness said.

“All I could hear while we were in traffic was a commander approaching the armored car and asked in French that the guy be removed from the car, after which all I heard were gunshots,” he added.

The incident is believed to have caused massive chaos on the road, as persons started fleeing from the scene for their lives. The corpse of the victim is believed to have been abandoned on the road by the military after the execution.

The events of yesterday in the North West Region have put a big stain on the reputation of the military in the region. Earlier in Mbengwi, several houses were razed down by alleged military forces. Footages later also revealed that several children were killed in the raid.
