Doctors at the Bamenda Regional Hospital are doing their best to save the children
Bamenda, 04.11.2023 – Four primary school pupils have been rushed to the Bamenda Regional Hospital after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance. Doctors at the hospital are currently working tirelessly to save their lives, while concerned parents anxiously await updates on the condition of their children.
MMI’s reporter at the scene has just confirmed that one of the pupils has died while others are under intensive care and some are stabilizing.
The exact circumstances surrounding the alleged poisoning incident remain unclear at this time, and an investigation is underway to determine the source and nature of the toxic substance.
Eyewitness accounts allege that one of the pupils brought a sachet of powdered substance and shared it with her mates.
The pupils are of Class four at the Petina Bilingual Nursery and Primary school
The Bamenda food poisoning incident has sparked panic and concern among parents and the community, who are now grappling with uncertainty and fear, considering that a few days ago, MMI reported an attempt by a woman in Douala to poison school children.
As this situation unfolds, our thoughts are with the pupils and their families, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
