A 16-year-old boy is being held by the forces of law and order in Bamenda in the North West region of Cameroon.
He is accused of raping a 5-year-old.
The incident, sources say occurred at a place called Joe Corner Water at Mile 3.
A source said “He called for the 5-year-old claiming it was the elder brother of the girl that called for her. When the girl came the boy took her into his room.”
“After he raped the girl the 5-year-old, she started crying … He gave her rice to eat but as she continued to cry neighbors came in and … discovered she had been raped” our source says.
The suspect was locked up in his room as they awaited the arrival of the police.
Today’s incident in Bamenda adds to many alleged rape cases that have been witnessed over the last weeks.
