Bamenda: Unknown nursing mother dumps new born, drops heart touching note.

A yet to be identified nursing mother has dumped her new born baby this morning, a source has told MMI.

The baby was found early Thursday, May 4, 2023 beside MIDENO in Ntefinki quarter in Nkwen, Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon.

It is not known who the mother is, but sources say a note was found beside the baby suspected to have been left by the mother.

In the handwritten letter, the mother stated why she dumped the baby.

“The baby was discovered around 6:00am. After notifying the quarter head and other authorities, the child was taken to the Health Centre where he was confirmed to be doing well in health.”

The child has reportedly been taken to the police station for further procedures on his welfare.

“He was also taken to the hospital and medics confirmed he is safe and sound. We are now trying to see what to do,” Founder of Reach Out Organisation whose collaborator found the baby told MMI.

Mother drops letter

A note left behind by the supposed mother stated that, “I am sorry I had to do this. I had no other choice because I want my child to live a happy life. I have nothing no one to help me and nothing to start a small business that can sustain the baby and I.”

“Please help me take good care of him and I pray God bless and grant your heart desires,” the note further reads adding that: “The baby’s name is Migael and he was born on the 26 April 2023. He has taken his first vaccine and is still to be circumcised. God bless you and your household.”

She said the boy who was born on April 23rd, 2023 is called Migael.
