Bangate/Kutaba road accident: Government sanction dangles over Avenir Voyages


Official information puts the death toll of a road accident involving a bus of Avenir Voyages at five with twenty people injured.

The bus matriculated LT 122 IQ left Yaounde in the Centre region to Kutaba in the West Region but experienced brake failure at a village called Makat 2 at about 11:50 pm Sunday, February 21st, 2021.

Victims with severe injuries have been evacuated to Bafoussam regional hospital while others are treated at Fombot district hospital.

Fonka Awa Augustine, Governor of the West Region, and Donatien Oum Senior Divisional Officer of Noun Division visited the accident scene Monday, February 22, 2021.

A bus of Avenir Voyage once again involved in a road accident barely nineteen days after the minister of transport lifted a one month sanction suspending the agency from working following an accident that caused the death of over 30 people on the 27th of December 2020 in Ndikiminekin village in the Centre Region of Cameroon.
