Barrister Nouvelliza Eta-Besong Voted New FAKLA President

Buea-based lawyer, Barrister Nouvelliza Eta-Besong, has been voted president of the Fako Lawyers Association (FAKLA), the first woman to occupy the position.

She was voted by 481 FAKLA members during a heated election held in Limbe, South West, on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

She triumphed against outgoing FAKLA Secretary General, Barrister Martin Dikanjo, and outgoing Public Relations Officer, Barrister Quintus Tabot.

Before her election, Barrister Nouvelliza Eta-Besong had been serving as Vice President of the association for four years.

She replaces Barrister Asoh Ebi Epey as FAKLA President, taking on a two-year mandate renewable once.

While launching her campaign earlier this month, she capitalised on selfless service, if voted FAKLA President.

Barrister Nouvelliza has been a member of FAKLA for 13 years.

He candidacy was supported by prominent lawyers, including former FAKLA President, Barrister Agbor Nkongho, and her father, the erstwhile President of the Cameroon Bar Association, Battonnier Eta Bissong.
