The town of Bertoua has been plagued with insecurity, this time with a bar owner getting robbed off 11 Million FCFA by robbers in the East regional capital.
The robbery was carried out in two separate operations by the armed robbers. The thieves took FCFA 2 million from the drinking area in Bertoua, then returned later after getting hint that the owner of the business spot had struck a lucrative deal, this time taking away the sum of 9 million FCFA.
An investigation was carried out by the East Gendarmerie Legion and three suspects of between 15 and 16 years old were arrested.
A fourth suspect reportedly escaped arrest with the complicity of his father, who has equally been arrested for questioning, according to the police.
The arrested suspects say the money which they robbed from the business man is with the fourth suspect, who is currently on the run.
Investigations however are being made to intercept him and recover the money.
