“Biya’s regime remains solely responsible for killing Wazizi and owes his family and the Cameroonian people an explanation” Cabral Libii

Cabral Libii has become the latest politician to react to the death of Buea based pidgin journalist Samuel Wazizi. The former presidential candidate didn’t think twice about who the person was to apportion the blame for the demise of the journalist.

“It was with grief that I received the news of Samuel Wazizi’s death under such very unclear circumstances” he said. “I send my sincere condolence to the family of the deceased and the media in Cameroon”.

Cabral Libii reaffirmed his support for a free press in Cameroon and out rightly criticised the Biya regime for the continuous persecution it has meted on the journalism landscape in Cameroon whenever they try to their job, stating the government was aware and should take the full responsibility of the dead journalist and for all other media related persecutions in the country.

“Biya’s regime remains solely responsible for the killing of Wazizi and owes his family and the Cameroonian people an explanation for his demise” he insisted.

He then urged the government to release all those illegally incarcerated as a means of appeasing the present situation and moreover as a means of decongesting the prisons as they are good breeding grounds for the spread of the corona virus pandemic ravaging the entire world presently.
