Movement resumes in Buea but an end to tension still far-fetch

Security forces are now conducting a house to house search in Mile 16 after the brutal confrontation this morning in the area with armed individuals.
Shootings began this morning after the gunmen storm Mile 16 and blocked the road linking Buea-Kumba and Buea-Mutengene.
The attack which took place some 100metres from the Mile 16 security control post resulted to the following casualties according to reports on the grounds:

– A BIR soldier killed in Muea
– Police shot in Mile 16…
– 4 gunmen killed
-4 vehicles set ablaze
-Several sheds at Mile 16 market reduced to ashes

Molyko is now on a lockdown as security forces patrol the area to restore calm.
The Buea main market which was initially supposed to hold today is deserted.

Several Muea and Mile 16 residents are gradually fleeing the area for safety.
A relative calm now reigns Buea
