Boyo population skeptical to receive Presidential couple’s aid

The population of Njinikom in the Boyo division has been skeptical since the arrival of their share of President Biya and wife’s aid.

Accompanied by military trucks, the population is said to have fled when the aid arrived, assuming the convoy was another military raid on them.

The military on its part tried convincing the population, stating that they come in peace. While some listened, others say the military’s action over the past months has made them lose all trust in the armed forces.

Njinikom like other parts of the Anglophone regions has over the past months been subjected to a series of military raids as well as gun battles between the military and Ambazonian fighters that has left huge human and material losses.

Contrary to the expectations of many, President Biya in his end-of-year address to the nation promised to intensify the crackdown that has left thousands dead and hundreds of thousands displaced and in dire need of humanitarian aid.
