Breaking! Tanzanian President, John Magufuli dies – aged 61

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli is dead aged 61. According to reports from local media sources, the President is reported to have died at the Mzena Hospital, in Dar es Salaam.

Rumours of the president’s death spread a few days ago on social media and it was quickly dispelled. Some sources claimed that he was in Kenya receiving treatment after catching COVID-19.

Some reports stated that the late President had been airlifted to India for treatment. It is therefore unclear at this stage where exactly he died.

However, according to a video statement released by Tanzanian Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan, President Magufuli died from ‘heart diseases’.
