The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi, has survived a car accident while on his way to Yokadouma for the consecration of the Bishop-elect, Mgr. Justin Georges Ebengue. The accident, which occurred on February 28, 2025, saw the vehicle carrying the bishop tumble twice before regaining stability.

Bishop Bibi attended the ordination Mass in Yokadouma with the newly consecrated bishop, despite showing visible signs of pain.
