Buea: Journalist Charles Embola named new Chief of Maumu village

Charles Embola, the Publisher of Volcanic Times, a Buea-based newspaper, has won the Chieftaincy contest at Maumu village in Buea Subdivision.

He was confirmed today by the village’s kingmakers in the presence of the Divisional Officer of Buea, Abba Abdurahman, the Chief of Upper Muea, Edward Molinge and other authorities.

Embola was supposed to be confirmed last Thursday but consultative talks failed as the Divisional Officer failed to arrive at Maumu.

His confirmation today was received with joy and jubilation by many Maumu villagers.
