Buea Mayor Seeks Presidential Clemency On Deviant Elites

The Mayor of the Buea Municipality, Ekema Patrick Esunge, has requested the President of the Republic to forgive some elites of the Southwest Region, whom he considers as the brains behind the disunity that exist among party militants in the region.

He was speaking this Wednesday October 3, 2018 in Buea, while delivering his speech at the ‘CPDM South West Regional Mega Campaign Rally’.

“On behalf of the population of this region and in my capacity as elected mayor of Buea, I humbly submit to the head of state, to pardon our brothers and sisters for demonstrating deviant behaviour, as father of the nation we pray you find space in your heart to forgive us as the father did in the prodigal son,” Mayor Ekema said.

It should be recalled that Mayor Ekema took to the press last week, to denounce assassination attempts on his life in Douala.

According to the Mayor, the attempt to take away his life was carefully plotted by some Southwest Elites who used sabotage to kill him.

He was very frank to point out that many Southwest elites don’t like him because of his outspoken nature and transparency policies, in the running of the CPDM party affairs in the region.

Could The Mayor be offering an olive branch to those who have been plotting against him in the past?

The Mayor equally stressed for the need of peace and unity to reign among the CPDM family in the Southwest Region.

According to him, it will only be in an environment of peace and unity that their candidate, President Paul Biya, will secure a 100-present vote in the upcoming presidential elections.
