Nathaniel Eyole Monjimbo, was declared missing in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon on Sunday.
But reports reaching MMI this morning from family sources, say he may have been “swept away by floods.”
“Water carried him away,” said a source close to the family, though MMI is still to speak with the victim’s parents.
Latest reports say his body was found this Monday, after he was swept by heavy rain.
According to the young boy’s classmates, they were playing football in the rain when the ball went in the direction of the running water.
“While trying to collect the football that went into the running water, he was carried away,” a statement from the principal of BHS Buea said.
The principal equally noted that all searches have proven futile and that they are hoping to, “… Engage the forces of law and order to see what comes out of their efforts.”
Monjimbo is a student of Baptist High School (BHS).
