The population of the village are reported to have gone furious following the continuous killings and carried the corpse while brandishing peace plants to the Bui Unity Warriors camp. It is said, as the population approached the Amba fighters’ camp, General Mad Dog ordered his foot agents to open fire on the crowd , killing two civilians on the spot and wounding several others.
The Amba boys loyal to General Mad Dog are said to have carried the dead bodies and mercilessly dump them near a river. It is worth noting that no fewer than 50 deaths of amba fighters and innocent civilians have been registered as a result of amba infighting in Bui division in recent times.
Amba barbarism on civilians in Bui
While Amba fighters in other divisions try to protect civilians as they engage with the military, those of Bui under thier different factions have launched a war of “no mercy” on innocent civilians.
” Indiscriminate kidnappings for ransom, torture, maiming, looting and killing of civilians have become the order of the day” lamented Berinyuy Joël who told MMI that he went through the ordeal and decided to leave Bui to a neighboring town for safety.
The macabre acts of the so called “liberation fighters” have triggered mass exodus of the population from Bui to other regions. The economy of the division is said to be on its knees.
