Cabral Libii Salutes Bill On Tribalism

Cabral Libii says he is happy that government finally tabled a bill on tribalism at the National Assembly.On his facebook page Saturday November 16th, 2019, Cabral Libii called on his supporters to be ready to assist the implementation of the law against tribalism, immediately it’s voted by parliament.To the National President of the CPNR party, only the effective collaboration of Cameroonians will help government bring down propagators of hate and tribalism in Cameroon.The bill placed before Parliament in the ongoing November session is set to tackle hate speech. Much like a similar bill recently passed by the Nigerian Parliament, the bill seeks to prosecute and punish perpetrators of hate speech and tribalism, coming to modify law No. 2016/007 of July 12, 2016 of the Cameroon penal code.Article 241 (1) of the bill deals with the punishment of promoters of hate speech and contempt of tribe gives a sentence ranging from 6 days to 6 months in prison or a fine amounting to 500.000FCFA.
