CAF President plans to create an African Super League

The Confederation of African Football President, Patrice Motsepe has made public his plans to possibly create a league similar to the failed one in Europe.

According to the South African-born CAF President, the idea is mainly aimed at revolutionizing football across the African continent and has already received support from the President of FIFA, Giani Infantino.

President Motsepe says a model similar to the defunct European Super League will be made, but in this case, making right what the Europeans got entirely wrong.

“We have followed the attempt of some big European clubs to set up such a competition and will try to learn from their failure,” he stated.

Patrice Motsepe, who took office last March, has also anticipated the first criticisms of the project and assured that CAF has “followed the attempts of certain major European clubs to form a Euro Super League and will draw lessons from their experience and of their traps ”.

The idea is not yet definitive and is bound to meet a lot of backlash and support from Africa’s football heavyweights.
